Collectors and fans bidding on 53 customized Stormtrooper helmets at Star Wars Celebration V helped raise $50,150 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through the 501st TK Project. With contributions from the likes of Dave Filoni, Seth Green, Jesse James and Jane Wiedlin, the charity effort coordinated by Southern California Garrison members Chris Romines (TB-111) and Lesley Farquhar (TR-3774), was a 22-month-long project that was made possible with blank helmets graciously donated by eFx Collectibles. The helmet that fetched the highest bid was Daniel Logan's $3500 "Maori Helmet," but there is one more very special helmet that will be auctioned online in the near future. The 501st Legion is proud to claim many of the Star Wars Celebration V artists as Honorary Members (and in the cases of Matt Busch and Kevin Graham, full-fledged armor-wearing members!). While every piece of exclusive art is a worthy keepsake of 2010's biggest Star Wars event, the Legion would like to send special thanks to artists like Steve Anderson and Marc Wolfe who have branded their artwork with the official 501st logo, as well as artists like Joe Corroney and Dave Dorman who immortalized Legion members as visual reference for their work. The 501st also appreciates the talents of Noah Albrecht, Daniel Bergren, Grant Gould, Kevin Graham and Denise Vasquez in support of the Droid Hunt.
